Russia’s Minister of Interior takes muster of new dog handler uniform

Today, Rashid Nurgaliyev, Russia's Minister of the Interior and Army General, took muster of the new dog handler uniform design. The event was attended by the deputy ministers, heads of the MVD subdivisions as well as active dog handlers of the territorial police authorities.

The new special clothing and protection equipment for dog handlers was approved in October in the previous year by the RF government resolution "On uniform, distinctive insignia and stores and clothing supply rates of the law enforcement officers in the Russian Federation".

They were developed in order to improve the service conditions in various climatic zones in any time of the year as well as to facilitate the interaction between officers and service dogs both during the work and training.

The outfit consists of winter and summer dog handler clothing, and a special set for training a dog - an animal handler full protection costume, several types of protection sleeves, a jacket, a dog handler overall, and a safety helmet.

During the inspection Russia's Minister of the Interior and the agency's other chiefs discussed in detail the provided samples to state that, on the whole, the new uniform complies with all the requirements and specific working conditions of the dog handlers, and is up-to-date, comfortable and easy to use.
